Peace & Justice
Peace & Justice Committee
As Christians we are called to seek justice and peace in all we do. As stated in our Baptismal Covenant, we:
…seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbor as ourselves…
…strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being…
The Peace & Justice Committee works on these issues in 3 ways: educational, spiritual, and action. This year’s focus is on the systems that contribute to the various ‘isms’ in society. The Millenium Development Goals (listed below) set forth by the United Nations are of particular interest and help guide us in our work.. This important work overlaps into all areas of church life and we strive to work closely with the various committees within the church as well as in the community. We meet quarterly or as needed, all are welcome and encouraged to become active as committee members or with short term projects. Keep watch on this website for next meeting date and upcoming events.
